Cerpac process will be end to end, payments to banks and collection of CERPAC forms from bank for green cards will be discontinued.

Green cards will be applied for on immigration website, payment made on immigration website and and E-green cards sent to the email of the application.

The physical card will be chip enabled and sent to the address of the company

Local personnel understudying expatriate staff will be monitored and it is expected that number of expatriates should drop annually as the local staff become more proficient on the job

An additional $1000 dollars will be charged on each green card as insurance premium (expatriate repatriation and personal liability insurance) in order to cover the cost of deportation if an expatriate overstays, bringing the total cost of CERPAC for a year to $3000

For temporary work CERPAC will be issued for 3months and 6 months at the cost of $600 and $1100 respectively, the additional cost of deportation insurance will be $500

Visa processing time will be 48 hours. Electronic Visa and visa QR code will be sent via mail

The applicant is to apply with their personal information and email. This will replace visa on arrival

All visa applications will be processed via the visa processing center in Abuja and not the Nigeria embassy, only regular visas will require visit to the embassy for interview after processing by the visa processing center in Abuja

Visa holders will get emails notifying them before expiry of their visa Visa is non-renewable in-country,you must go back to your country of origin for renewal.

There will be a three months grace period from 1st May to 31st August. Fines and bans will commence 1st August The three months is to allow those that have overstayed to regularize their stay without any fine or harassment, the channels for that will be made known in due time(it is not certain if regularization will require expired visa holders to go back home)

Already issued Business Visa on Arrival will be valid between 1st to 13th of May 2025 after which Immigration would have stopped issuing visa on arrival, last batch of which will be issued on the 30th of April 2025

This visa permits vessels seeking permission to berth in Nigeria for the purposes of carrying out specialized tasks within vessels will be issued with Temporary Work Permits or Visas through the Visa on Arrival procedure at the NIS headquarters subject to the approval of Comptroller General of the NIS. The STR (Subject to Regularization) visa is issued according to the dates as specified on your contract and typically allows for a single entry.

The STR is required by foreigners seeking to take up employment in Nigeria. Section 8, sub–section 1, of the Immigration Act provides that „no person, not being a citizen of Nigeria, may take up employment in Nigeria other than employment with the federal or state government without the consent of the Comptroller–General of Immigration”. Section 33 of the Act further provides that an application must be made to the Controller–General by the prospective employer, in writing, confirming that he/she has a vacancy on the expatriate quota and at the same time stating the position in which the prospective employee is to be employed and confirming acceptance of immigration responsibility.

The employer company applies to the Nigerian embassy or consular office in the country where the prospective employee/applicant resides, requesting that the individual (and accompanying spouse/children, if applicable) be granted STR Visa (subject to regularization for residence work permit) upon arrival in Nigeria. The employer company undertakes to assume immigration and other responsibilities for the employee (and accompanying spouse/children, if applicable) in Nigeria

The STR Visa is issued at a Nigeria mission without reference to the Comptroller-General of Immigration provided that the applicant presents the specified documents. STR visa is normally given for 90 days without reference, during which an application must be made to the Comptroller-General of Immigration to regularization approved and a Residence Work Permit granted.
